John Koerner has an MA in American History from the State University of New York, College at Brockport, where he was an award winning student writer. He graduated summa cum laude from the Honors Program with a BA in Communication/Journalism from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. His writing has appeared in the Hamburg Sun, the Springville Journal, and the Next Step Magazine.

Born in Buffalo, Koerner is also a graduate of St. Francis High School, and an accomplished historical tour guide. He has worked as an instructional guide for Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts, Roam Buffalo, and Haunted History Tours.
