Criminal defense lawyer Michael Taheri wrote "Look Who's Adopted" to fill a void. As he explained to Business First, "We needed a book that talked about all the wonderful things that adopted people grew up to do."
Taheri has two adopted children, and the decision to write the book began when they started asking questions about what it meant to be adopted. He wanted to concentrate on their potential, partly by showing the accomplishments of other adoptees, including President Gerald Ford and Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis.
Taheri and his legal assistant co-writer James Orr also have collaborated on a legal book about drinking and driving. They're considering a second adoption book, this one for adults, about its ethical and legal issues.
